- The web site will be translated using automated translation software. Clearly no software can match the quality and clarity of human translation which, however, is costly to provide for a large web site like SFGov (containing 40,000 web pages).

- Whenever an exact translation is required, we advise City departments to hire professional human translators to translate key documents. Like some other Cities, we prefer to provide automated translation rather no translation at all in order at least to provide speakers of other languages an overall sense of the information available on a web page.
